Cloud and DevOps engineering, our home ground
This is the service closest to who we are. Our team is built on senior site reliability and platform engineering experience, with AWS Solutions Architect and Developer Associate certifications and years of production infrastructure work behind it. We migrate workloads to AWS and Azure, put infrastructure under Terraform, build CI/CD pipelines, and cut cloud bills. Clients who migrate with us save 26.6% on average.
If your systems are slow, fragile, expensive, or deployed by hand with crossed fingers, this is the page for you.
Who this is for, and who it is not
A good fit if:
- Businesses whose AWS or Azure bill has grown without anyone quite knowing why
- Software teams deploying manually, or afraid of their own deployments
- Companies leaving an agency or departed developer who "did the servers", with no documentation
- Startups that need production-grade infrastructure without a full-time platform hire
Not the right service if:
- You need a certified partner to run a 500-seat enterprise landing zone programme. We are senior but deliberately small
- Your entire estate is one WordPress site on shared hosting. Our IT support or web services cover you for less money
What you actually get
Cloud cost and reliability audit (£1,500 fixed)
A review of your AWS or Azure account covering spend, reliability and security, delivered as a written findings report with prioritised, costed recommendations within 10 working days. A free top-level cost check is available first if you want a taste.
Migrations without drama
Planned moves to AWS or Azure, whether from on-premise, another cloud, or a hosting provider you have outgrown, with rollback plans and dress rehearsals rather than weekend heroics.
Infrastructure as Code
Your infrastructure defined in Terraform: reviewable, repeatable and documented by construction. No more servers only one person understands.
CI/CD pipelines
Automated build, test and deployment (GitHub Actions or similar) so releases become boring. Docker and Kubernetes where they earn their complexity, simpler platforms where they do not.
Monitoring and incident readiness
Dashboards, alerting, and on-call runbooks tuned to what actually matters, plus SLO definitions if reliability is commercially critical for you.
How it works, from enquiry to handover
- Free scoping call. Thirty minutes on what you run, what hurts, and what outcome you want. If we are not the right fit, we say so on this call.
- Audit or discovery. For most engagements the £1,500 audit comes first: findings, costed options and a fixed quote for the work. The report is yours to keep, whoever does the work.
- Implementation. Fixed-scope delivery in reviewable increments, with changes going through code review and CI like any good engineering work.
- Handover or retainer. Documentation and a handover session, or an ongoing retainer with defined days per month if you want us to keep running it.
What it costs
| Engagement | Price | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Free AWS cost check | £0 | Top-level review of spend with headline findings |
| Cloud cost and reliability audit | £1,500 fixed | Written findings report, 10 working days |
| Migration or build project | Fixed quote from audit | Scope-dependent |
| DevOps retainer | Monthly, defined days | Ongoing engineering, monitoring and improvements |
Cloud provider charges are billed by the provider directly to your account. We optimise your bill, and we never resell it or mark it up. All prices are in GBP. Any applicable VAT is confirmed on your written quote before payment.
Fixed-scope options you can buy directly: Cloud cost and reliability audit, Fractional CTO.
What we need from you
- Read-only access to your cloud account for the audit (we send exact, least-privilege instructions)
- Access to whoever understands the workloads. Thirty minutes with them is worth days of archaeology
- A decision on your appetite for change: quick savings only, or structural fixes too
Honest answers to common objections
“26.6% savings sounds like a marketing number.”
It is the average across our migration clients, and we published how it is achieved (rightsizing, storage classes, reserved instances and deleting the forgotten) in a written case study. Your number could be lower or higher. The audit tells you before you commit to anything.
“We are too small for DevOps.”
You are too small for a DevOps team. You are not too small for automated deployments and monitoring, which pay for themselves the first time a release goes wrong at 5pm on a Friday. Right-sizing the practice to the business is exactly the job.
“Can’t our developers just do this?”
Often they can, eventually, at the cost of the product work they were hired for. A focused engagement gets the platform right and hands your developers something they can operate day to day.

Frequently asked questions
AWS, Azure or Google Cloud?
We are deepest on AWS, where the team holds Solutions Architect and Developer Associate certifications, and we also deliver on Azure and Google Cloud. If you are choosing from scratch, we recommend based on your workload and team, not our preference.
What does the £1,500 audit actually contain?
A written report covering where your spend goes and what to cut, single points of failure and backup gaps, security basics (IAM, exposed services, encryption), and a prioritised action list with effort estimates. Delivered within 10 working days of access.
Do you do Kubernetes?
Yes, including running production clusters. Half our value is telling small teams when Kubernetes is more platform than they need, because simpler managed services often deliver the same outcome for a fraction of the operational load.
Can you be our on-call?
We offer defined-hours retainers with monitoring and alerting. Genuine 24/7 contractual on-call is scoped and priced explicitly if you need it. We will not sell you an SLA we cannot staff.
Is this the same as your fractional CTO service?
They overlap. Cloud and DevOps is hands-on engineering of your infrastructure. The fractional CTO engagement adds strategy, vendor and hiring decisions, and leadership across the whole technical function.
