A website built for a domiciliary care provider’s two hardest audiences
A Hampshire domiciliary care provider (anonymised). This study is anonymised: the work and numbers are real, the client is not named.
The situation
The provider’s previous site was a generic template: slow on phones, silent about the information families check before calling, and with a careers page that buried applications behind a PDF form. Recruitment, not client acquisition, was the sharper commercial pain.
The constraint
Care data is special-category data under UK GDPR, the CQC framework shapes what families and inspectors expect to find, and the budget was a small agency’s, so the build had to land at starter-package pricing, not bespoke-platform pricing.
What was built
- A mobile-first site presenting the due-diligence information families look for: services, coverage area, safeguarding and complaints routes, and the provider’s CQC rating displayed properly
- A phone-first careers section with a short application form that feeds the recruitment process directly instead of an unwatched inbox
- Form and data plumbing engineered for special-category data: encrypted in transit and at rest, access-controlled, with defined retention
- Local SEO structure targeting the towns the agency actually staffs
The stack
Static-first web build, secure form handling, structured data for local search
The outcome
Delivered at fixed starter-package pricing. The recruitment path, which was the stated priority, went from a buried PDF to a phone-first form reachable in two taps from any page. As an anonymised study we publish the approach rather than the client’s internal application numbers.
