Mobile apps without the agency bloat

We build iOS and Android apps from £5,000 fixed price using React Native and Flutter. One codebase covers both platforms, which is why the price is a fraction of separate native builds. The engagement runs end to end: concept, design, build, App Store and Play Store submission, and post-launch updates.

We are also honest about when you do not need an app. If a well-built mobile website does the job, we will tell you and quote you for that instead.

Who this is for, and who it is not

A good fit if:

  • Businesses whose customers or field staff need something a browser does poorly: offline working, push notifications, camera or location workflows
  • Founders with a validated idea who need an MVP in stores at a fixed cost
  • Companies with an existing app that needs rescuing, updating or rebuilding

Not the right service if:

  • Your users just need to read content and fill in forms. A fast mobile web app costs a third as much and needs no store approval
  • You expect an app to market itself. App stores are shop shelves, not marketing channels, and we will say so before you spend

What you actually get

Scoped MVP definition

We cut the feature list to what earns launch, in writing, with a fixed price. Version two is planned, not smuggled into version one.

UI/UX design first

Clickable Figma prototypes tested on real people before development, because changing a screen in Figma costs minutes and changing it in code costs days.

One codebase, both stores

React Native or Flutter builds that feel native on iOS and Android, integrated with your backend, Firebase, or a new API we build alongside.

Store submission handled

Certificates, listings, screenshots and review-process wrangling. We have been through Apple review enough times to get listings passed first time more often than not.

Post-launch support

Crash monitoring, OS-update compatibility, and a defined support period included, with ongoing feature retainers optional.

How it works, from enquiry to handover

  1. Scoping call. Free, 30 minutes: what the app must do, whether it should exist, and a budget range on the spot.
  2. Design sprint. Flows and screens in Figma, a clickable prototype, and a fixed build quote.
  3. Build in fortnightly releases. TestFlight and Play internal-track builds every two weeks so you use the real thing throughout.
  4. Launch and iterate. Store submission, launch checklist, analytics, then an honest review of what real usage says version 1.1 should be.

Apple and Google developer account fees are paid by you directly (about £79 a year and a one-off £20 respectively). Price is driven by screens, integrations, and offline requirements. All prices are in GBP. Any applicable VAT is confirmed on your written quote before payment.

What we need from you

  • A decision-maker for weekly feedback on builds
  • Content, branding, and access to any systems the app talks to
  • Apple and Google developer accounts in your name. We set them up with you, but you must own them

Honest answers to common objections

“Cross-platform apps feel cheap, don’t they?”

A decade ago, sometimes. React Native and Flutter now power apps from major banks and retailers. For the small slice of apps that genuinely need per-platform native code, such as heavy graphics or unusual hardware, we will say so and help you plan for it.

“Why is your price a third of the agency quote I got?”

A small senior team, one codebase, no account managers, and a scope that has had the vanity features argued out of it. The agency quote also probably includes native builds for both platforms that you may not need.

“What if nobody downloads it?”

Then the app was the wrong first spend, which is exactly what the scoping call is for. We regularly talk people out of apps and into cheaper validation first. It costs us money and earns us referrals.

Frequently asked questions

How long does an app take?

An MVP typically takes 8 to 12 weeks from design sign-off to store submission. Apple review adds a few days at the end, so plan launches at least two weeks before any hard marketing date.

iOS first or both at once?

With React Native or Flutter both come from the same build, so releasing on both stores costs little extra. If your audience is strongly one platform, we can still stage the launch.

Do you build the backend too?

Yes. Most apps need an API, accounts and data storage, and we build that with the same stack as our web development service. If you already have systems, we integrate with them.

Who owns the app and the code?

You do. The repositories, the store listings, and the developer accounts are all yours from day one.

Can you update an app another company built?

Usually. We start with a paid code review to find out what state it is in, then quote for the takeover honestly, including the occasions when a rebuild is cheaper than a rescue.
